Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Honeyshirt collects when you visit honeyshirt.com, order a tee or contact us; why we need it; who we share it with; how long we keep it; and the choices and rights you have. Honeyshirt is the business responsible for your information, and our business address is 231 Oxford Ave, Sugar Grove, IL 60554, United States. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected].

Privacy at a glance

  • We collect what we need to print your tee, deliver it, support you and keep the store secure.
  • We do not sell your personal information and we do not rent mailing lists.
  • Full card numbers are handled by payment providers, never stored by us.
  • Photos and text you upload for a personalized tee are used only to print your order and resolve questions about it.
  • You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your information at any time.
  • We use no advertising trackers; the only analytics is a cookieless page-view and speed measurement added by our network provider.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you give us

When you place an order, create an account or contact support, we collect your name, email address, phone number if you choose to give it, billing and shipping addresses, the items, sizes and colours you order, and anything you write in messages, reviews or support tickets. If you order a personalized tee, we also collect the text, names, numbers, dates or photos you enter so that we can print them.

1.2 Information collected automatically

When you browse the site, our web server and the security services that protect it record technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the referring page and the date and time of your visit. The store also uses essential cookies to keep your cart and checkout working, as described in section 5.

1.3 Information from other parties

Payment providers tell us whether a payment succeeded and may share limited details such as the card type, the last four digits and the billing country, never your full card number. Shipping carriers send us delivery status updates for your parcels. If you sign in with a social account where that option is offered, the provider shares your name and email address with us only after you approve it.

2. How we use your information

Purposes for using personal information
Purpose Information used Legal basis (EEA/UK)
Printing, packing and delivering your order Name, address, order details, personalization text or photos Performing our contract with you
Order, shipping and support emails Email address, order details Performing our contract
Returns, exchanges and refunds Order details, photos you send of a problem Performing our contract; legal obligations
Preventing fraud and keeping the site secure IP address, device data, order and payment status Legitimate interests; legal obligations
Tax, accounting and legal records Order and payment records Legal obligations
Marketing emails, only if you opt in Email address, preferences Consent
Improving designs, sizing advice and the site Aggregated order and support information Legitimate interests

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects order or shipping emails, which we must send to fulfil your order.

3. Personalization photos and text

Custom tees are a big part of what Honeyshirt makes, and many of them carry family photos, pets, names or dates. We treat these uploads carefully:

  • They are used only to print your order, check print quality and answer questions about that order.
  • We never use your photos in our marketing, on product pages or on social media unless you give us separate, explicit permission.
  • Only the people and print partners involved in producing your order can see them.
  • Please upload only photos you have the right to use, and avoid images of children you are not the parent or guardian of.
  • You can ask us to delete your uploaded files once your order has been delivered and the 60-day return window has passed, or earlier if you cancel.

4. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the store, and only what each one needs:

  • Print and fulfilment partners who print, pack and dispatch your tee receive the shipping name and address, the items ordered and any personalization.
  • Shipping carriers receive the recipient’s name, address and, where the carrier requires it, a phone number or email for delivery notices.
  • Payment providers process your payment and handle card or account details directly. The payment options available to you are shown at checkout and on our Payment Methods page.
  • Hosting, security and email providers store the website and its database, protect it from attacks, and deliver our emails.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to respond to valid legal requests, to protect our customers or our rights, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or sale, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Honeyshirt uses essential cookies that keep your cart contents, checkout session, login and security checks working. The store cannot function without them, so they do not require consent. We do not use advertising or social-media tracking cookies. Our content delivery and security provider, Cloudflare, adds a lightweight, cookieless web analytics script that counts page views and measures loading speed in aggregate; it does not build advertising profiles or follow you across other sites. If we add any other analytics or advertising tool in future, we will update this policy first, list the tool here, and ask for consent wherever the law requires it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; if you block essential cookies, the cart and checkout will not work.

6. How long we keep information

Retention periods
Information How long we keep it
Order and payment records As long as tax and accounting law requires
Personalization photos and text Until the order is delivered and the 60-day return window has passed, then deleted on request or during routine clean-up
Support conversations As long as they are useful for resolving your request and any follow-up
Customer account Until you ask us to close it
Marketing preferences Until you unsubscribe
Server and security logs Short periods needed for security and troubleshooting

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous so it can no longer identify you.

7. How we protect information

The whole site runs over encrypted HTTPS. Access to customer data is limited to the people who need it to fulfil and support orders, and payments are processed by PCI DSS–compliant providers so your full card number never reaches our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information, and if a breach affects you we will notify you and the authorities where the law requires.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, including under US state privacy laws such as California’s CCPA/CPRA, Canada’s PIPEDA, Australia’s Privacy Act, New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020 and the GDPR, you may have the right to:

  • know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law;
  • receive your information in a portable format;
  • object to or restrict certain uses, and withdraw consent you gave earlier;
  • opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information or targeted advertising (we do neither);
  • complain to your local data protection or privacy authority.

To make a request, email [email protected] from the address linked to your order or account, or submit a ticket. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we respond within the time the law requires. You may use an authorised agent where the law allows. We never treat you differently for exercising your rights.

9. Emails, reviews and browser privacy signals

Emails we send

Transactional emails, such as order confirmations, shipping notices, return approvals and refund confirmations, are part of fulfilling your order and are sent whether or not you subscribe to marketing. Marketing emails are sent only if you opted in, and every one carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately. We never send emails asking you to confirm card details or passwords; if you receive one claiming to be from Honeyshirt, do not click any link and forward it to us.

Reviews and photos you share publicly

If you post a product review, the name you choose and your review text appear publicly on the site. Do not include your address, phone number or order number in a review. You can ask us to edit or remove a review you wrote at any time.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

Because we do not sell personal information or use cross-site advertising trackers, there is nothing for a browser opt-out signal to switch off today. If that ever changes, we will honour Global Privacy Control signals as a valid opt-out where the law requires it.

10. Children’s privacy

Our store is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 where local law sets a higher age, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Many of our tees are bought for children by parents, which is fine; the account and order belong to the adult. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International transfers

Honeyshirt is based in the United States, and orders are processed and shipped from the United States. If you order from Canada, Australia or New Zealand, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, and some service providers may process it in other countries. Where the law requires, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices, tools or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant, for example adding an analytics tool, we will post a notice on the site and, where appropriate, email customers before it takes effect.
